Dr. Tatheer Zahra, Structural Engineering Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology will provide insights into why the standards were changed and how these can be applied to the design of high rise construction up to 19 stories. Our second speaker, Claire Mason, Senior Structural Engineer, ARUP will share insights on the design and construction of the iconic 161 Collins Street, Melbourne building, highlighting the use of masonry blocks on the interior façade design which was engineering by ARUP based on a design created by Bates Smart.
