Staying at the forefront of the construction industry takes a sense of adventure. Being open to new ideas is a big part of Taka’s approach to developing new products. “We aim for certain things of course but the outcome is unknown,” he says. “When we come up with something new or unexpected it’s very exciting.” And when it comes to preparing for a successful product launch, a thorough reality check makes a big difference. “We have a discussion with other departments and architects,” says Taka. “So before it goes to market we make sure everyone’s quite happy with the product.”

Innovation in Brickworks products is often inspired by the creativity of our customers. “The architecture market is constantly coming up with new ways to use bricks,” says Taka. “By being innovative with our products, we improve the properties of bricks so we can keep advancing, and are always seeing bricks in a lot of different places.”
